Ekiti State Government has reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of Youth Corps members serving in the state. The assurance was given by Mrs. Olawumi Famuyiwa, the Director-General of Civic Orientation and Citizenship Ekiti State (BCOC), during her recent visit to the State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Ekiti State, Alhaji Riko Shuaibu, at the Ekiti State Orientation Camp in Ise/Emure/Orun Ekiti.

The primary objective of Mrs. Famuyiwa’s visit was to collaborate with the National Youth Service Corps Ekiti Chapter in sensitizing Corps members on positive values and ethical conduct. The Ekiti State Government, through the BCOC, aims to promote a sense of responsibility and good behavior among the Corps members during their service in the state.

Mrs. Famuyiwa delivered her advocacy message to Alhaji Shuaibu during the official closing ceremony of the 2024 Batch “A” stream 1 Orientation course for Corps members deployed to the Ekiti State Orientation camp. She emphasized the importance of upholding positive values and ethical standards throughout their service.

Expressing his gratitude, the NYSC State Coordinator, Alhaji Riko Shuaibu, thanked the Director-General of BCOC for her visit to the camp, which coincided with the official closing ceremony. He acknowledged the significance of such collaborations and expressed his enthusiasm for future partnerships during the next batch of the orientation course at the campground.

The reaffirmation of Ekiti State’s safety and security for Youth Corps members serves to alleviate any concerns and ensure a conducive environment for their service. By collaborating with the BCOC, the Ekiti State Government is actively promoting the development of responsible and morally upright Corps members who will contribute positively to their host communities.

The commitment of the Ekiti State Government, as well as the BCOC and NYSC Ekiti Chapter, highlights the importance placed on the well-being and ethical conduct of the Youth Corps members. This collaborative effort will undoubtedly enhance the overall experience of Corps members serving in Ekiti State and further strengthen the bond between the government and the NYSC community.

As the youth continue to serve their nation through the NYSC program, the Ekiti State Government remains dedicated to supporting and ensuring their safety, growth, and positive impact on society.
