SOME OF THE INNOVATION INTRODUCED IN AGRIC BY GOVERNOR OYEBANJI TO ENSURE FOOD SECURITY IN EKITI STATE
#Video: This is Erifun livestock development center which has now been upgraded to an Agricultural Hub. This video (shut this week) shows the transformation that has taken place there. It’s unbelievable, if you knew what it was before. The Agric Hub meets all farmers’ agricultural needs and services. WHAT WILL THE HUB DO? – It will serve as a one-stop shop for selling all agro inputs at subsidized prices. – Tractor hiring services at subsidized prices. – Training of farmers – Selling of all agro products produced from the Hub – It will have pilot Farms that will serve as a physical example for trainees. – It has befitting accommodation with modern facilities that make farming attractive. Meanwhile, broiler production training has been held successfully at the hub and the trainees are currently on third cycle. CAN THE HUB SERVE ALL FARMERS IN EKITI? Yes it can but for easy access, this same Agric Hub will be replicated in Ikere Ekiti to serve farmers in Ekiti South and another one in Ikole Ekiti to serve those in Ekiti North. WHAT ABOUT SECURITY? The deployment of military personnel to Ekiti State is to strengthen existing security architecture and ensure safety and security, especially at the grassroots. The active involvement and participation of our local hunters, vigilantes and Amotekun as encouraged by Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji is a plus. Kudos to the Honorable Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Ebenezer Boluwade.
