EKiti State Executive Council Approves Renovation of Nine Secondary Health Facilities,Others

In a move aimed at strengthening healthcare infrastructure, the Ekiti State Executive Council on Tuesday sanctioned the renovation of nine secondary health facilities across the state.

This pivotal move stresses government’s commitment to enhancing medical services for its residents.

The renovation project, part of a broader agenda to modernize healthcare facilities, encompasses various aspects such as the Government House Clinic, selected buildings at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, and the Hospitals Management Board building. Additionally, the approval includes the provision and installation of solar systems in these facilities, marking a significant step towards sustainable healthcare delivery.

In tandem with this initiative, the council has also greenlit the supply and installation of medical equipment to nine general hospitals and the government house clinic in Ado-Ekiti. This comprehensive approach emphasized the state government’s dedication to ensuring the wellness and good health of its citizens by equipping healthcare facilities with the necessary tools to provide high-quality care.

Recall, that the state governor Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji had announced free delivery for pregnant women and free treatment for children between 0-5 years and aged in the state.

Other approvals according to a release by the state commissioner for information Rt.Hon.Taiwo Olatunbosun included

the rehabilitation of 121 boreholes and the construction of the Obisesan – Oke Ala- Basiri Road, highlighting the government’s efforts to improve water supply and enhance transportation networks.

The establishment of the Aso-Oke Weaving and Market Centre in Ado Ekiti, along with the renovation of agricultural farm buildings, intensifying the administration’s focus on youth engagement and economic empowerment through skill acquisition and job creation.

Similarly,the council allocated funds for the revamping of the Ekiti State Public Works Corporation, emphasizing the importance of maintaining road infrastructure and stimulating industrial growth.

However,during the session, the council observed a minute of silence in honor of late Bar Paul Omotoso, the former State Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ekiti State.

The council members paid tribute to his legacy and contribution to the state’s political landscape.
